Summer in the Son began in 1983 with the hope of bringing high school kids to Christ through worship, fellowship, and the delivery of the gospel. In it�s first year, it was a one week event. In the beginning SITS enjoyed artists like Degarmo and Key, DC Talk, Michael W Smith, Petra and Milan Lefever & Broken Heart. Today, Summer in the Son boasts artists like Lincoln Brewster, The David Crowder Band, Family Force 5, Sanctus Real, Audio Adrenaline and Jeremy Camp. There are honest and powerful speakers like Dan Smith, Mark Moore, and Jim Bergen just to name a few.
Junior High Challenge was born as a service and missions project week. It has since grown into a Junior High specific, week long conference; one of the only week long conference events for Jr Highers in the country.
Summer in The Son and Junior High Challenge have now grown to a total of 4 weeks of programming and at its current rate, we expect to see more growth in the very near future. SITS and JHC has always worked hard to present ministry and growth opportunities to Youth and their leaders with excellence, and we will continue to do so. We are proud to have been called to our duties and are committed to serving Christ in all that we do.
